The two first defended the content shared on their very popular domains and how their sites started off as the answer to filtered-white-mainstream media and celebrity culture. They also revealed what they would not put on their sites and addressed the morals of their audiences. I really was curious to hear what they had to say. I was disappointed in both of their answers. They definitely are not trying to make black people look good. I’m more concerned about the content that is getting out to young people. I have nieces and nephews range between 4-21. I care about what they see because they ask me questions all the time.. It is really sad people like Q and Fred really think they can’t control their content. I used to be in journalism. Trust me …they can control what they put out there..I wish they would stop pretending that this is about putting the good, bad, and ugly so people can see it. They have total control over the content they put out there. I wish they would just be honest and say "we don’t give a damn about you or your kids….this is about me!" At least I could respect the honesty in that.
As people…we have to do better though. Parents /Aunts/Uncles need to explain to young people….yes..the bad and ugly is out there…always has been…but it doesn’t mean we have to glorify it and think that is the direction to go in. Just saying.
