Looking back at this trailer, there is a lot of stuff that ended up in the game which is against cinematic trailer rules usually. Most times cinematic trailers never include anything in game.
Included in this:
-Scorpion’s air grab move
-Scorpion’s forward grab
-Scorpion’s fatal blow
-Scorpion’s fatality
-Scorpion’s finishing punch from his 212 combo string
-The starting sequence of Raiden’s fatal blow
-Raiden’s dash punch move
-The Naginata environmental move
-Shang Tsung’s island stage
It’s a shame that classic Scorpion skin didn’t make it in. The current Raiden and Scorp skin obviously made it, along with that mask for Scorp as well. Like I said, most times the action involved in cinematics usually doesn’t coincide with anything with the eventual gameplay. Kind of neat they actually did this.

Going back to this trailer after pretty much 3 years, this trailer doesn’t age well. The song is the problem.
The lyrics and what is being said in the song doesn’t match the setting. Nether Realm if you hire another rapper to sing for your next game, instruct whoever it is to make a song that is hype but also fits with the context of Mortal Kombat and its characters. Like Mega Ran and RandomBeats did for Leroy Smith in Tekken 7. The song is slow and lacks the energetic excitement we hope to feel when we see a new Mortal Kombat.
Another fact: this was the final “Get over here” sound before it was changed in mk11
