Anthony Russo on Gambino Mob, "The Mafia Takedown," Cooperating with Feds (Full Interview)

In this VladTV exclusive, Anthony “Hootie” Russo sat down to detail his time as a crew member of the Gambino crime family. After describing his upbringing as a first-generation immigrant growing up in the largest mafia area in the world, Russo admitted that he wanted to be a “street guy” at five-years-old and started selling drugs before his teen years.

As a teenage drug dealer, Russo became affiliated with the mafia and explained why he chose the Gambinos over the Bonnano family. Russo also described a failed attempt at expanding his cocaine operation and explained why he was never a made man. He went on to detail his prescription pill operation and his time behind bars before describing the aftermath of the “The Mafia Takedown,” which was the biggest one-day bust in United States history.

I never heard of this guy until today and seems a standup guy, who I’m going to follow and support his cause. Until I feel otherwise by his actions but he seems sincere and deserves a chance, not a killer, not directly anyway but I’m sure his drug dealings costed life’s, but those customers made their decision’s voluntarily.

@1:09 “when the immigrants first came here they were frowned upon. Especially the Sicilians. Ya know they would take them out to the swamps and hang them”

Yet Italians are the most racist people, especially to those of color. SMH.

And his hustle is that of POC

I could also listen to them for the most part! Just got to try and "keep that snitching aspect" out the back of my mind! Especially with my Philadelphia mafia and "Skinny Joey" Merlino and the way he went down…I can’t get over how much "snitching" went on back in the day bc they really did fantasized the life and cutting ✂️ the tongue out for that ????

I think this interview, plus Pennisi mentioning Alite at Mafia meetings should put to rest this BS that John Alite was a hang around nobody. John Alite might be a tough guy to like, might do way too much name dropping and the baseball bat sales are fucking ridiculous, but John Alite is a stone cold killer and hit man who was used to do work and did it. John is getting goated in to verbal nonsense. He needs to keep show going and do what he was doing he has great show. Hootie is also amazing and we all could listen to him for hours on end. Which I just did. Lol

Maybe,? But Hootie with no back up ain’t as scary. It’s the unity that makes organizations strong. Triad’s, Unions, twins etc.
I don’t know why you keep saying that…it makes no sense.

Vlad is the best interviewer hands down, he’s not putting himself in the video, he doesn’t have a whole hip hop opening with 3 minutes of him dancing and carrying on like a mamaluke, he has a diverse format of guest’s and topics. He’s going an interview and never tries to put himself in the mix, no gimmicks or nonsense. AND THAT WHAT MAKES VLAD THE BEST OUT THERE, ALL USE GUY’S FROM THE LIFE AND THE STREETS WITH YOUR OWN PODCASTS CHASING THE SAME NUT AND REHASHING THE SAME OLD BEEFS IS TIRED ALREADY AND IDC IF YOU ARE A RAT OR NOT, IF YOU DID YOUR TIME OR NOT, IF YOU KILLLED SOMEONE YOU SHOULD NEVER BE ABLE TO PROFIT FROM EXPLOITING A BOOK OR PODCAST. I THOUGHT THERE WAS LAW’S AGAINST THAT AND PROFITS WENT TO THE VICTIMS FAMILIES??? AS A FORMER 6 YEAR VETERAN AND POLICE OFFICER, I KNOW WHAT YOU ARE AND YOU SHOULD BE WORKING IN A FACTORY FOR 10 BUCKS AN HOUR, SO WHEN THEY SAY THEY CHANGED, PAID THE PRICE, FOUND JESUS, OR WHATEVER, YOUR FULL OF SHIT. BUT YOUR ALL GREAT STORY TELLER’S AND ENTERTAINING AND THAT’S WHY I WATCH YOU. BUT LIKE JOHN ALITE SAYS, AND HE’S THE ONLY ONE, HE’S A PIECE OF SHIT AND TRYING, AT LEAST TO HELP HIS OWN SON AND OTHER KID’S AND FOR THAT I CAN RESPECT WHAT HE’S DOING, I DON’T RESPECT HIM OR ANY OF YOU. I RESPECT THE COPS AND FIREFIGHTERS AND 9-5ERS, YOU CAN’T CHANGE WHAT YOU ARE AT YOUR CORE. I’M 1ST GENERATION ITALIAN FROM QUEENS AND LONG ISLAND AND BACK HERE AFTER MY 28 YEARS ABROAD SERVING MY COUNTRY AND COMMUNITY EVERY DAY IN AND OUT. I APOLOGIZE FOR GOING OFF, I DIDN’T INTEND TO BUT THERE IT IS.

@Vladtv, that’s a chump move putting words in people’s mouths when it comes to that life… you know specifically what Mike franzese said and you continue to twist and promote the language dangerously… that’s a low life thing to do… you have 5 million subscribers… you don’t need to resort to Bush league tactics for views…

Is there fucking ANYBODY who does NOT talk to the FBI or cooperate?? ANYBODY??? Interestingly, you don’t see cooperation from, say Russians; Albanians; or cartels. Why? Because those groups actually really will kill you; your family; and anyone that reminds them of your family….
